We don’t often hear about people discussing their digestive system, do we? I’d venture to say that few people even think about it. But they should because an unhealthy digestive system could easily be the cause of some of the most common ailments we complain about every day.
Continued neglect of the needs of our digestive tract can and does cause serious illness. Actually, I believe there’s more preventable illness due to clogged up intestines than we realize. But, the subject doesn’t seem to be real popular…….until now.
I’ve told you how important I believe a healthy immune system is. Well, a healthy digestive system is equally important. If either aren’t cared for properly, you get sick. We’re going to explore a lot of interesting information about what your digestive system is, how it works and how to keep it working well so you don’t someday end up with something like colon cancer.
But, for today I just want to mention a few things that are considered symptoms of an unhealthy digestive system. These include fatigue, low backache, bloating, constipation, weight gain and a number of other maladies.
So, what causes a less than healthy sysem? Well, here are a few familiar reasons: poor diet, too little water, too little exercise, too much stress, too much food and on and on. No surprises here, are there?
Just remember that a properly functioning system eliminates toxins and waste from your body naturally and easily. When it’s not, those wastes and toxins stay in the body, literally causing self-poisoning by allowing toxins to re-enter the blood stream through the intestinal walls.
Pretty gross, isn’t it? So are the diseases associated with an ill-functioning digestive system. Next time, how it all works…naturally.
